WRVS Composting Program to Receive Additional Totes

The Corinth Conservation Commission recently voted to spend $150 to help Waits River Valley School purchase three additional compost totes. The school diverts compostables from its waste stream, which are picked up by Corinth resident Bob Sandberg and added to his compost operation. This program keeps large volumes of organic waste out of our landfills – waste that becomes a rich organic soil amendment. Bob has donated compost for the many trees the Conservation Commission has planted in East Corinth, Corinth Center, Corinth Corners, and Cookeville (check out the new disease-resistant Liberty Elm we planted behind the Town Hall!). The WRVS composting program is also supported by the Bradford Conservation Commission.

T-Shirts Support Corinth Conservation Commission

The Conservation Commission still has many custom t-shirts available for sale in all sizes. The t-shirts sport an original design by local children’s author Gail Gibbons, depicting whimsical hikers on a trail in commemoration of the year the Clement Loop Trail opened in the Maplewood area. T-shirts are $12 apiece and are available for sale at the Town Hall and also at Conservation Commission events. T-shirt proceeds help pay for the walks and talks the Conservation Commission organizes, as well as activities we support such as the WRVS composting program (see above).
